August 14, 2008 found Daryle and the band flying once again to play a package concert with country music artist, Joe Nichols in Vernal. Utah. The shows were a huge success, playing to a jam packed and very enthusiastic audience. It was a great day seeing friends and fellow musicains, hanging out, and the guys were fed great! The 3 and a half hour drive from the Salt lake City airport was very scenic. There is no shortage of rocks in Utah! |

August 7, 2008, Daryle and 595 took a journey to play a concert in Bouctouche Canada, BC. It was a long ride, as the band started out the week playing shows in West Virginia, New York, then on to Canada and back to Nashville. The Canada show was extremely successful. The rain-soaked crowd went crazy for Daryle and the band throughout their entire set. The stage was massive as was the sound system. J.J. and the crew did a fabulous job. The promoter hired French catering to feed the band very tasty French cuisine. Also on the bill was country music artist, Sammy Kershaw. Below are more pics from the day. |

Stevie flew into Nashville Sunday from California after playing a show with Curb Records artist Jeff Carson. The show was Saturday May 19, 2007 at the Castroville, CA 48th Annual Artichoke Festival. Norma Jean Baker (aka Marilyn Monroe) was the very first Artichoke Queen! A limo provided by LTD SUV Limousine Network, Hollister, Ca, picked the band up at San Jose airport and proceeded to the festival site where Jeff and the guys played a 90 minute set for a very enthusiastic and responsive audience. The band consisted of Dave Web (Sugarland-Atlanta Rhythm Section) on bass, Wayne Avers on guitar, Van Abbott (Reba McEntire- Tammy Wynette) on keys and Stevie on drums and back- ground vocals. The guys had a fabulous time. Johnny Morgan, program director of radio station KTOM 92.7FM was on hand. Johnny, as well as Ken Rose (owner of LTD SUV Limo Network), Jennifer Roybal (festival promoter/Seal Rock Marketing), and Jennifer's fiance Keith Medlin treated the band to dinner that evening at the famous Dona Esther Mexican Restaurant in historic and picturesque San Juan Bautista, Ca. The party was entertained by singer/guitarist "Angel" (pronounced on-yel) at the restaurant. The night ended at Daisy's Saloon, a karaoke bar just across the street from Dona Esther where Jeff sang one of his hit songs "The Car" karaoke!. Johnny Morgan sang "Brown Eyed Girl" and Dave Web sang "Some Kind Of Wonderful". One of Ken's SUV limos (about 20 yards long) picked up the party and dropped the band off at the hotel. Thanks to Ken, Jennifer, Keith, Brian (limo driver #2), Gary (limo driver #3), (can't remember drivers #1 and #4 names), D.L. the band's security man, Kathy, Johnny Morgan-KTOM, and the town of Castroville, Ca. www.artichoke-festival.org www.ltdlimo.com www.sealrockmarketing.com www.ktom.com |

Stevie just flew in from south Texas, where he had the honor to play drums for country music legend, Johnny Rodriguez. On the same show, Stevie played drums for Kelly Kenning, a great new country artist/songwriter from Alice, Texas on the Airastar label. Alice is just outside of Corpus Christi. Mr. Buck picked the band up in Nashville and flew them on a private company plane to Alice, TX, compliments of the CC Forbes Company. Stevie stayed on the Kenning ranch Friday and Saturday. The show was Saturday night, May 12, 2007. The lineup of musicians was top notch. Matt Grant (Tanya Tucker) on guitar, Kevin Owens (Vince Gill- George Jones-Loretta Lynn) was on pedal steel guitar. Kevin had Stevie laughing hysterically the entire weekend. Bass guitar legend Leon Watson (Marty Stuart- Tracy Lawrence) played great as expected, Andy Lopez was on keys and Wade on fiddle. Stevie says; "It was a fun trip and an honor to play with Mr. Rodriguez, Mr. Kenning and the rest of the guys. Always a treat to be able to perform with excellent artists and musicians. Thanks to Kelly and his family for their hospitality, thanks to Johnny Rodriguez, Matt Grant and Van Abbott for creating the opportunity for me to play the show, thanks to 'Boogie' for driving the bus and being an all around nice fellow, and to Buck 'the pilot' for being so nice and flying us there and back safe and sound. Kevin Owens, you are a certified nut and I love it!" Stevie flies to California again this week (5/19/07) to play a festival show with Jeff Carson. |

Stevie recently flew to Miami, Florida to play a show with Sammy Blue, the "Crowned Prince of The Blues", as he was coined by the late Muddy Waters in the 70s. The show was performed for the Broadcasters Foundation of America. Comedian Peter Fogel (HBO's Comedy Central) opened up the show. The venue was the luxurious beach front Ritz Carlton on picturesque Key Biscayne, just outside of Miami. President, George W. Bush was at the hotel when the band arrived. The scene at the hotel was was very cinematic and very 'secret service'! Broadcasters from around the country came for a few days of fun in the sun, fishing, annual broadcasters conference and to help with the BFA fund raiser. Among others, in attendance were broadcasting icons Gordon Hastings (foundation president), Skip Finley (ICBH), Garet Komjathy (GE), Mike Carter (KPRS-Kansas City, MO), Nancy Lambert (CitiBank) and actress Deidre Lorenz. Lots of fish were caught and great time was had by all. sammyblueband.com broadcastersfoundation.org |
