STEVIE HAWKINS - Georgia Jam
Note! Southern skirt and Jamfans watch out!
Here geht's in this direction correctly well off, live.
Veterans of the Southern of skirt, everything the guitarists Barry Richman(Wet Willie, Col. Bruce
Hampton), Spencer Kirkpatrick(Hydra), Wayne "Bear" Sauls(Eric Quincy Tate) and Reddog by the
Drummer and singer Stevie Hawkins was met here in front, supported by Kerry Creasy, bass,
Justin Hawkins, drums and Rich Iannucci, key board.
Southern skirt with all its typical elements goes here "fully off"!
Strong, rau and spontaneously self-compositions and classical authors are ordered here.
Since it is probably a project of Hawkins, we hear it insert also the-more frequent or other solo ones,
which lets it constitute as imaginative and good Rock drummer.
In the long run a successful mixture from classical skirt, Bluesrock and Southern skirt, occasionally even
with easy Hendrix resemblance and on "tributes tons of James Brown" (with horns) strongly is even
transmitted!
Result: This Livescheibe makes fun!!!!!!!!!

Former Leon Russell drummer Steve Hawkins kicks up some serious, live, Southern Rock jam with a
little help from his friends, Spencer Kirkpatrick (Hydra), Barry Richman (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels),
Reddog (Jimmy Thackery), and Wayne "Bear" Sauls (Eric Quincy Tate), accompanied by bassist Kerry
Creasy (Jerry Garcia). The CD opens with "Rebels Yell," the latest shout-out to the great Southern
Rockers of old, and there's even a Gov't Mule reference. Cool. "Locomotive 22" proves to be an early
set promise of more great things to come, with Kirkpatrick leading the jam into some "Allmans meets
Ten Years After" territory. Rich Iannucci wails on the B-3. Excellent. Bear Sauls picks up the guitar on
"Dancing Bear," and brother does he ever smoke. Bear has always been one of the best, and his band
Eric Quincy Tate was one of the finest bands to ever come out of the beautiful South. Bear continues to
rip it up on (our favorite) "Grits and Gravy." Other outstanding tracks include "The Dazed and Confused,"
featuring Barry Richman; "Honest Man" featuring Jeff "Reddog" Higgins, and a most excellent all-star
tribute to James Brown, -n- talk about your funk and rock? This is the epitome. Georgia Jam is a red hot,
still smoldering set that embodies everything good about Southern Rock and Soul. The very finest
pickers, doing it up right. One of the hottest Cds of the year. -Michael Buffalo Smith-

"When a group of truly great musicians get together, then you get a great album"
I am a professional musician myself so I will not be writing a review of this great album Georgia Jam, I
will only write a few words of thank you to Steven Hawkins and his fantastic, best of the best musicians
friends, for putting together an album that keeps alive the best of American music. Every note on this CD
played by all these unbelievable artists, comes from the heart. You can feel it here, that these guys had a
great time playing together on this album. I am honored and humbled to write about Georgia Jam.
Sincere thanks to Jaroslav and to Visiting Moon Music. Check out Jaroslav and his band "Illusion" as well
as the dynamic talent of "Daniel J". http://www.musicvmm.com

To define the music of "Georgia Jam", I had to return to the origins of American music and to blues in
particular. The good times past when the small white paid patrimony and learned from the creators, the
genre founders who rest in anonymity and we unfortunately know the reprises better than the originals.
A special mention to Lynrd Skynyrd for their homage to the work of people of color in the song "The Ballad
Of Curtis Loew". Those who do not like the early period of Allman and priceless registered works for
Capricorn, will not have an attentive ear, but the others!!!
In any case I, with an insert which mentions the legend Hydra, Eric Quincy Tate, and another guitarist who
worked with Charlie Daniels and Lynyrd Skynyrd, could not help but be persuaded to part with my door money.
80 minutes of blues, of rock'n'roll and soul funk, crossing to a homage to James Brown. To confirm what I said,
"Going Down" is re-born again in an effective way but which remembers in 2005, the existence of Don Nix
(the son of Memphis lives on).
The only thing there is to deplore, small label obliges, is the quality of recording. Take it as is live authenticates,
and it is at this moment that I would do the unpardonable if I did not give this essential information to you.
This is only the second recording the label has, after the release of Wayne Sauls. Small label, small price, but
what a lesson of music! This is the type of project that is not currently popular nowadays, but the rock'n'roll of
these Southerners is a style rich and varied, I like it all between ABB and Wet Willie....who's with me?

New Georgia Jam Recording Sessions:
I'm off the road for a while now. After touring heavily in the Southeast. we're now preparing to record
Georgia Jam #2. The new CD will be half live and half studio. Special guest artists will appear on this release
as was with the first. I have spoken to Michael Buffalo Smith about possible involvement in the project and
he is receptive to the idea. We hope to have him on the new record. We are looking into recording the live
segment of the CD in Athens, Georgia, hosting a 2 hour and 30 minute show. We will take the best cuts
from that show to incorporate with the studio cuts on the new CD. Artists interested in possibly being a
part of the jam for the live show, please e-mail us. GeorgiaJam@atlantamusicgroup.com .
